Your next steps before the ceremony.

Last updated October 16, 2026

This is a preparation guide, not a booking or license-status check. Booking, payment, or completing booking questions does not confirm that your license has been received or reviewed.

1. Check your appointment

Open your Cal.com confirmation or calendar invitation. Check the date, time zone, witness package, and private joining link. If the confirmation is missing, check spam or junk, then contact us. Do not book again just to recover a missing email.

2. Follow your assigned officiant instructions

Have your valid, unexpired Utah County marriage license. Find the county email containing the private Officiant Submission link, then follow the private instructions for your assigned officiant (Designee). Forward it only to the recipient specified for your booking.

If the officiant's name or contact details are missing, or the instructions name someone different, ask us to confirm the correct recipient before forwarding. Do not guess an email address or paste your private license link or identification documents into the website chat or contact form.

Sending the email is not confirmation that it has been received or reviewed. If you are unsure, ask your assigned officiant to confirm.

3. Check your witness plan

With the $99 package, you provide two witnesses who are at least 18. With the $199 package, Simply Married Online provides them. Check that your confirmation shows the option you intended.

4. Get ready to join live

Test your camera, microphone, and internet connection. Both partners and both witnesses must be able to see and hear one another and the officiant during the live ceremony. Use the joining link in your confirmation or calendar invitation.

After the ceremony

Your officiant completes the electronic submission; Utah County then processes the marriage record. These are separate steps from booking and preparing for the ceremony.
